Ingredients of Viennese Torte

  1. Prepare 6 oz of chocolate chips.
  2. You need 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream.
  3. Make ready 1/2 cup of butter.
  4. It’s 4 of egg yoilks.
  5. You need 2 tbsp of powdered sugar.
  6. Make ready 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
  7. Make ready 12 oz of pound cake you can use a frozen one thawed ike a sarah lee pound cake works well.

Viennese Torte instructions

  1. combine chocolate chips, butter and cream in saucepan heat to simmer to melt chocolate and butter mix well cool to lukewarm.
  2. add egg yolks, vanilla and sugar beat until smooth.
  3. chill until it is of spreading consistancy.
  4. slice cake the horizontally into 6 layers.
  5. spread chocolate filling between each layet and cover top and sides.
  6. chill at least 2 hrs.
  7. slice into thin slices.
  8. NOTE.
  9. This recipe is a passed down recipe from my grandmother we have been eating it this way for years BUT if you are concerned about undercooked egg yolks use the pasterized eggs!.
