  1. Prepare 500 gms of chicken.
  2. Make ready 4 pcs of onions.
  3. You need 3 pcs of Tomatoes.
  4. It’s As needed of Garlic paste.

  7. You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.

Kadai chicken is a popular chicken curry recipe in which boneless chicken pieces are served in thick gravy along with big chunky pieces of onion, capsicum and tomatoes.Cook till the chicken becomes tender.My version of Kadai chicken: Here, in this recipe I have not combined all the kadai masala ingredients but added each of them individually as these spice ingredients are always handy in Indian kitchens.The original recipe is made using a lot of cream + ghee + spices but I guess being passed from generation to generation.

  1. First wash and marinate chicken with salt, red chilli, haldi, garam masala, black pepper, ginger garlic and chilli paste and curd. Keep it aside for half an hour..

In a kadhai/ griddle add oil and add bay leaf and finely chopped onions and saute till colour changes.Add ginger and garlic paste and saute for few mins.Add haldi/ turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and black pepper and mix well. Add 3 finely chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turn soft..
  3. Then add the marinated chicken and mix with all the masalas. Add little water and salt as per taste and cover it and cook till tender.Serve hot with roti or naan..
