Ingredients of Green Gram-Sweet Potato Soup
- Take 150 gm of Green gram/whole green moong.
- You need 1 of small sweet potato.
- You need 3-4 of garlic pearls deskined and finely chopped.
- Make ready 1 of small onion sliced finely.
- Prepare to taste of salt.
- It’s 1 Tb of ground black pepper powder.
- You need 1 of ts paprika.
- You need 1 Tb of oregano powder.
- Prepare 4-5 Tb of thick coconut milk (optional).
- It’s 1 Tb of butter.
Green Gram-Sweet Potato Soup step by step
- Soak the green gram for 30minutes prior cooking.
- Pressure cook the gram using the same water upto 2 whistles or until soft.
- Boil the sweet potato and deskin and chop into cubes after it’s cool.
- Melt butter in a wok or a non stick pan and sauté the onions and garlic until the garlic brown and onions become translucent.
- Add the sweet potatoes and sauté for another 5 minutes.
- Finally add the green gram with the water used for cooking,salt,pepper,paprika, oregano powder.
- Combine all the ingredients well and add a cup of water.
- Reduce heat and let the soup simmer for 5-7 minutes or till the desired thickness is achieved and then add the coconut milk. Mix and take off heat.
- Serve hot in soup bowls.
