Gajar ka halwa Recipe. Carrot halwa or gajar halwa recipe - A slow cooked traditional Indian halwa or pudding made by simmering carrots in milk. Carrot halwa is popularly known as gajar ka halwa, gajrela or gajar halwa.

Ingredients of Gajar ka halwa

  1. It’s 750 gms of Carrot/ gajar.
  2. Take As required of Sugar (as per taste).
  3. Take 1 litre of Milk.
  4. It’s 1/2 cup of Ghee.
  5. You need as required of Dry fruits (almond, cashew, pistachio).
  6. You need 400 gms of Mawa/ khoya.
  7. You need 2 tsp of Cardamom powder.

Gajar ka halwa step by step

  1. Firstly grate the carrot and keep it aside.Now in a another thick bottomed pan Saute all the grated carrots without ghee and milk for about 15 mins.Then in it add 1 litre of milk and cook it in medium flame until carrots / gajar turns soft for about 15-20 min.Now add sugar in it according to your taste.Cook in the sugar until it dissolve and start sticking in the pan and when the gajar turns. into a chewy and shinning texture..
  2. Noe in it add ghee 1/2 cups Mix them well.And stir it for 2-3 mins.Now add all the dry fruits,khoya and cardamom powder..
  3. Now cook it in high flame and stir it continuously for about 5 mins..
  4. Winter special dessert Gajar ka halwa is ready to serve to your guest..
