- Prepare 1 cup of rice vermicelli.
- You need 4 cup of milk.
- Make ready 1/4 cup of melted butter.

- It’s 2 cup of coconut milk (store bought).
- Take 1/2 tsp of saffron.
- Make ready 1 tsp of cardamom powder.
- Take 1 tsp of cinnamon freshly ground.
- Prepare 1 tsp of nutmeg.
- Prepare 1 tsp of pistachios Freshly ground.
Rice Vermicilli Payasam step by step
- Make a checklist, collect required ingredients, and keep them within your reach.
- In a saucepan over medium heat roast vermicelli in a tbsp melted butter. Transfer to a bowl, add 2c of boiling milk. Keep covered-about 10 minutes
Over medium heat roast raisins and cashews in a tbsp butter in a saucepan-about 2 minutes. Remove them and keep aside to garnish later. Transfer the soaked vermicelli to the saucepan, add 2c milk. Let vermicelli cook for 5 minutes. Stir in sugar. Dissolve saffron a in a tsp of hot water. Stir in saffron to give a nice colour to the payasam.
