Ingredients of Rui Macher Kalia (Rohu fish curry)
- It’s of 5 pieces Rohu fish.
- You need of 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.
- Prepare of 1 teaspoon red chilli powder.
- You need of 2 tablespoon curd.
- Take of 1 onion paste.
- Prepare of 1 tabiespoon ginger garlic paste.
- Prepare of 1 tomato pureed.
- Make ready of 3 green chillies.
- Make ready of 1 bunch coriander leaveschopped.
- It’s of 1 teaspoon garam masala powder.
- Prepare of 1 dry red chilli.
- Make ready of 1 pod green cardamom.
- Make ready of 2 cloves.
- It’s of 1 small stick cinnamon.
- Make ready of 1 tablespoon dhaniya powder.
- Take of 1 teaspoon jeera powder.
- Take of To taste salt and sugar.
- You need of As needed oil.

Rui Mach or Rohu fish is suppose to be one of the regular staple diets of every Bengali household.Rui-er Kalia - A spicy preparation in tomato and onion gravy.There is no end to it.Rohu is a most used fish in West Bengal in daily meal.
Rui Macher Kalia (Rohu fish curry) instructions
- At first.marinate the fish pieces with salt and turmeric powder.
- Now heat oil in a pan and deep fry the pieces of fish and keep aside.
- In the same oil tamper the whole jeera, bay leaf, garam msala and dry red chilli.
- Now add the onion and ginger garlic paste and saute well till the raw smell goes away and it becomes golden brown.
- At this stage add the tomato puree jeera dhaniya powder red chilli powder salt and turmeric powder,mix well.
- Now add the curd mix well and add a little water.
- Allow the curry to boil well.
- Add the fried fish and cover it for 3 mnts.
- Finally add chopped coriander leaves,green chillies and garam masala powder,cover again for 1 minute or so and remove from fire.
- The fish curry is ready to serve.
