Ingredients of Fish Biryani /Biriani ya samaki
- Make ready 1 kg of Kingfish.
- Take 2 cups of Rice.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of Fennel seeds.
- Make ready 3 tbsp of cumin seeds.
- You need 5 tbsp of garlic ginger paste.
- Prepare 3 tbsp of tomatoe paste.
- Make ready 6 of large tomatoes blended.
- Make ready 1 cup of buttermilk or plain yogurt.
- You need 3 of dry bay leaves.
- Make ready 2 of star Anise.
- Make ready 6 tbsp of Biriani Masala.
- Take 1 tsp of Cinnamon powder.
- Take of Juice of 1 lemon.
- It’s of Orange food coloring.
- Prepare of Salt.
- It’s of Fish masala.
- Take of Oil for cooking.
You can make scrumptious Fish Biryani and in half the time!Since fish takes very little time to cook, making this biryani is very easy.Fish Biryani is ideal for brunches, kitty parties, festivals and celebrations.It is a complete meal in itself and goes well with any raita or salad of your choice.
Fish Biryani /Biriani ya samaki instructions
- In a bowl add, 2 tbsp fish masala,2 tbsp of garlic ginger paste, 3 tbsp of cooking oil, 1 tbsp of white pepper powder, salt and a dash of vinegar… Mix well,marinate your fish pieces and set aside for 30 mins.
- Deep fry until golden brown and crisp. Set them aside.
- Cut 6 large onions and deep fry them till golden brown.
- In a cooking pot add 5 to 6 tbsp of oil and add in ur garlic ginger paste.
- Saute for 2 mins and in the Fennel seeds, cumin seeds, dry bay leaves, biriani masala, star Anise and cinnamon. Stir and saute it for 2 minutes.
- Add in the blended tomatoes, 1 cup of yogurt and the fried onions.
- Stir and cover to let it cook till it has reduced in half.
- Add in your fried fish pieces now.
- Stir gently and let it cook on low heat till cooked. For about 5 mins on low heat. It's ready.
- For the rice boil 2 cups of water and add a few Fennel seeds, a. Few cumin seeds, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 cardamom pods, 2 dry bay leaves and salt..
- Let the water come to a boil and add in 2 cups of washed rice..
- Cook on it on low heat, till all the water dries up..
- Remove it and make holes in the rice using a fork and add orange food coloring into it.
- Put in the oven for 15 minutes to completely dry up.
- Your fish biriani is ready. Serve and enjoy with some fried chili.
