The Indian semolina pudding is an absolute classic known as sooji kheer or rava kheer. Semolina kheer is a very delicious and one of the most simplest desserts to prepare.

Ingredients of Semolina kheer

  1. Prepare 1 liter of Milk.
  2. It’s 80 gram of Semolina/sooji.
  3. It’s 2 of Cardamom.
  4. It’s 3 tbsp of Ghee/clarified butter.
  5. Prepare 100 gm of Mawa/khoya.
  6. Prepare 1 1/2 cup of Sugar.
  7. It’s 3 tbsp of Pistachios.
  8. You need 3 tbsp of Almonds.

When the onions become reddish brown, pour it over the boiled semolina.Kheer is a sweet, milky Indian dessert made from any of these - rice, vermicilli, cracked wheat, squash, tapioca and semolina.Adults and kids everyone likes to eat Sooji Kheer.It is an instant recipe and can be prepared in less time.

Semolina kheer instructions

  1. In a wok, heat ghee. Add semolina and cardamom in it and sauté it for 5 minutes. Stir continusly and don't let the semolina turn into brown colour..
  2. Now in a same wok, sauté mawa for about 2 minutes..
  3. In a large vessel, pour milk. Give it a boil..
  4. Now add semolina and sugar and stir continusly for 5 to 7 minutes..
  5. Add mawa and mix well. Make sure you stir continusly. It will prevent to burn it from the bottom side..
  6. When kheer looks thick, then switch off the flame and cool it down..
  7. Add pistachios and almonds..
  8. Serve to your little loved ones..

This kheer is a favourite one with my kids.Add milk, when it is half done.Boil well and add sugar and powdered cardamom.
